I got a new maculata nest for my collection! I havent been able to collect the nests that I found this year so I decided to buy another one. I recieved the winning bid last week for this nest on ebay. It is a fairly large nest and it is in perfect condition. The measurements are 19" long and 12" across. It came in the mail a couple of days ago and arrived perfectly intact! It hasnt got alot of color in it mainly dark grey and some white stripes, but it is still a beautifull nest.Let me know what you guys think about it! thanks, CHAD

Hey Chad,

You got a nice nest there its got the same maculata shape mine has. Hopefully when my job goes from temp to permenant I will try to buy some nests on ebay. Like to get a large Arenaria nest, and maybe some Asian hornet nests like V. Velutina and so on. Do you have any other nests in your collection besided maculata? I got polistes nests, one medium arenaria nest, a V. Crabro comb fragment, a bumble bee nest, and some honeybee combs. Did I mention I have honeybees? I got 4 hives of them.

Regards,

Michael

"You know what would be cool. If i could live in the forest, like with the animals, like in a cabin, and only when i need stuff, I'll head into town and talk to people, then go back to the forest. Not just be alone, but be WAAAAYY away from everyone, no buildings, no houses, no concrete steel structures, but with nature.... ahhhhhh with nature."

Yeah, I got the tan D. maculata nest. The pics should already be posted by the time you read this post.

By the way, what do you think about my copper-colored D. maculata nest which is shown here?
